What's capturing my heart right now
This is a living page — a peek into what I'm making, exploring, and completely captivated by at this moment. It ebbs and flows like the waves and tides of my multi-passionate INFP-A personality.
A walk in the forest is never simply a walk for me. It is a meditation, an exploration, a discovery of beautiful things. Collecting fallen twigs, leaves, even, dare I say bugs, is one of my favorite things to do. And this year was the year where all of the random things were placed on a desk, sprinkled with flowers and crystals, and meticulously put together to create my Woodland Collection of wearable art. Join me on this page as I share pieces of my process as they all start to come together.
Every piece of organic material is dried and coated with several layers of UV resin to preserve its natural beauty. This process is time-consuming, as each layer dries for 3 to 5 minutes under the UV lamp. The total time for coating this little flower was 40 minutes. This ensures a thick, sturdy coat for when it gets turned into an earring.
My current desk situation. So many in-progress pieces, along with tons of dried, ready-to-use flowers and organic material. I call it organized chaos. :)
